15 Of The Most Interesting Pictures On The Internet

3:50 PM Unknown 0 Comments

Personally, I love perusing the Internet for cool pictures. Sometimes they're pictures of cats, sometimes they're informative diagrams on the state of the environment.
Today I've put together an assortment of random interesting pictures for you, ranging from historical photos to architectural design to natural phenomena. Enjoy!

1. The island where everyone wears a gas mask.

Hella creepy, but also hella interesting. This is Miyake-jima Island, where citizens are required to carry a gas mask at all times due to the poisonous gases that leak up from the ground.

2. Iranian women during the Shah's White Revolution.

The Shah's White Revolution was a push towards westernization in the 1960s, which was ultimately undone by the Iranian Revolution.

This Photographer Captures The Hilarious Reactions Of People Taking Shots

6:52 AM Unknown 0 Comments

I don't know about you, but after I take a shot of anything, whether it be vodka, tequila, or jäger, I will not be making a pretty face. Sure, doing shots gets the job done on a Saturday night, but that burn, I'm not about it.
Photographer #Tim #Charles captures the exact moment of pain and disgust that I am talking about in his photo series "#Shot #Face." #ViralSchool writes that Charles says the idea of "temporary mental and physical discomfort to reach a potentially better end result is interesting."
Charles' exploration of this concept is quite original, in that most shot-takers probably don't look that deeply into what they are aiming to do. Although, most will spend some time regretting their actions the morning after.

These Haunting Photographs Of Faceless Men Will Give You The Chills

4:31 AM Unknown 0 Comments

Christopher McKenney is a Pennsylvania-based photographer who specializes in horror surrealist photography. His work is both haunting and beautiful, and features incomplete men who appear to be trapped between two worlds.
Each photograph seems to embody the internal struggles of men, balancing the visible and the invisible. When speaking about the image featuring the man with a lampshade over his head, McKenney explains, "This picture represents people having ideas but covering them up in fear of failure or what other people will think."
As you take a look through McKenney's chilling surrealist art, consider the symbolism and meaning behind each piece.

24 Iconic Moments In History Seen From A Different Perspective

4:12 PM Unknown 0 Comments

The funny thing about history is that you never really get the whole story. It's snippets and pieces of the truth, usually from one viewpoint, that only reflects a small part of what really happened. So while you may think you know everything about a particular event, there's always something new and undiscovered that can change your perception of the past. Take these iconic moments in history, for example. We've seen them on television, admired the photos in the history books, and maybe read about them in the news, but do we ever experience these events from another vantage point? If you think you've seen it all, you're in for a treat.
